Funding

KinderZorg Bijzonder provides care from different funding streams. Every situation surrounding your child's care is different, so funding is always tailored to the situation your child is in and what they are entitled to within laws and regulations.

Our funding streams:

  • Health Insurance Act (Zvw)
  • Youth Act (Jw)
  • Long-term care act (Wlz)

Health Insurance Act (Zvw)

The care and/or nursing for your child falls under the Healthcare Insurance Act if the care is related to a need for medical care or a high risk thereof. To obtain a Zorgverzekeringswet indication, one of our children's nurses will come to your home for an indication interview to identify and assess the support needs of the child and family.

It is possible to combine a Health Insurance Act indication with a Youth Act indication.

KinderZorg Bijzonder has a contract with all health insurers. We claim our ‘Zorg In Natura’ (ZIN) directly from the health insurer. Care under the Healthcare Insurance Act is covered by the basic package, so there is no personal contribution or excess.

Finally, our indicative paediatric nurses also make Personal Budget (PGB) indications, however, KinderZorg Bijzonder itself does not provide care on a PGB basis.

Youth Act (Jw)

The care for your child falls under the Jw if your child needs support to participate in society and/or is less self-reliant than peers. To obtain a Jw indication, you as a parent and/or carer must apply to your municipality. Many municipalities have a Youth Team or Social Neighbourhood Team that will look at what is needed together with you. The Jw advisor at KinderZorg Bijzonder can also support you in this process.

It is possible for a Jw indication to be combined with a Zvw indication.

KinderZorg Bijzonder has contracts with most municipalities in the Northeast Brabant, Nijmegen, Rivierenland and North Limburg region. Do you live in a municipality with which we do not have a contract? No worries. In many cases, we can come to tailor-made agreements with your municipality. We declare our Care in Kind (ZIN) directly to the municipality; KinderZorg Bijzonder does not provide care on a PGB basis. You do not pay a personal contribution for Jw care and support.

Long-term care act (Wlz)

When it is clear that your child needs lifelong intensive care due to a physical and/or mental disability, the care falls under the Wlz. You can apply for a Wlz indication from the Centrum Indicatiestelling Zorg (CIZ) (Centre for Healthcare Indication). Afterwards, our Wlz consultant will support you in applying for care from KinderZorg Bijzonder with the care administration office.

KinderZorg Bijzonder has a contract with all care offices. We declare our ‘Care in Kind’ (ZIN) directly to the care agency. KinderZorg Bijzonder does not provide care on a PGB basis. You do not pay a personal contribution until your child turns 18.

If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact with us.
